2017 Project Life Catch Up!

I'm continuing on my 2017 catch up and have week 38 for 2017 to share today.

This week my product is from the Citrus Twist Kits December Scrapbook and Pocket Life kits.  As I often do, I've added an insert between the two main pages of the week.    I've just cut two vertical 3x4 pockets away from the right side of a 6x8 pocket so that there are 2 vertical 3x4 pockets left.  I wanted these to be see-through interactive elements so I've used some polka dot acetate from my stash to adhere one of the puffy stickers to for the top pocket, and then made a shaker pocket with some sequins for the bottom pocket.

I stitched a diagonal line through the bottom pocket to keep the sequins spread evenly throughout the pocket.

I've clustered a few elements together to make this title card and added some yellow ribbon from my stash.  It was really a bit thick to tie a knot, so I just went ahead and stapled it in place with my tiny attacher.

This filler card is easily my favourite from December's Pocket Life kit!  I love all of the different pattern and label elements combined onto the one card.  To make it into a journalling card I printed my journalling onto the grid paper from the kit, and matted that with another of the patterned papers.

Aren't these drawing pins from the Fancy Pants Designs Take Note ephemera pack the cutest!?

I originally stamped this journal card but it didn't work out that great, so I just adhered some extra tags over the top of that stamping and I'm calling this spread done!

That's the wonderful thing about scrapbooking right?!  You can always add another layer ;)

Thanks for dropping by today!

A Week 37 Share

Hi Friends!

I'm making a dent in catching up with my 2017 project life, and I'm dropping in today to share my week 37.  This is my last spread using the October Citrus Twist Kits Pocket Life Kit.

We didn't have a lot going on this week so I only have three photos, and one of those is one that Kayci sent me.  Even though our kids are adults now and don't live at home, I still like to use their photos sometimes, because what they get up to in their lives is still very much a part of our lives, if that makes sense.

It's quite a clean spread this week.  I added a tag or a stamp over each of my photos, and this "living the sweet life" sentiment suited the photo of my baby sweet basils down to a T!

I love love this card from the kit, and while I pondered filling in more of the whitespace, I'm pretty happy with the combination of the two fonts in my title for the week and a tiny embellishment.

Have you joined the CTK Facebook Fan Page yet?  Each month a free, yes you read that right, FREE cut file is shared!  Not to mention there's an awesome community where you can share your CTK projects and get loads of inspiration.

These leaves are from the October 2017 cut file and I've just layered them on top of each other, then stitched the bottom leaf to the 3x4 card with white thread.  I like how it ads texture without affecting the contrast against the patterned paper.

And that's a wrap on week 37, thanks for dropping by today!

Week 36 with Turn The Page

Happy 2018 friends!  I hope the year has started well for you and that you had a lovely festive season.

Okay so it's been a while since I've blogged.  Life gets busy and something's got to give right?

As the new year starts I hope to keep more up to date on here, and you can always see my crafty projects on my Instagram account as well.

This is week 36 in my 6x8 album.  I've used the October Citrus Twist Kits Pocket Life kit, which is brimming with Paige Evan's gorgeous Turn the Page collection.

I had a few photos for the week, and a Snapchat from Kayci which didn't fit the usual 3x4 dimensions, so I added an insert to slip it into.

So, confession time.  I'm not a huge ice cream fan, but oh em gee this Magnum ice cream in a tub is TD4!!  I can't even look at it in the freezer at the grocers or it ends up in my trolley ha! And of course as you can see in this pic, our two Cavaliers are in for any food on offer.

I've based my insert on a tag shape but added an extra piece at the front to slip my photo in to.  I stitched some pom pom fringe to the bottom of the tag and added an ephemera heart to a paperclip to pop in as well.

This is Kayci's Snapchat photo to me.  I took a screenshot so that the photo saved to my phone, then resized it in photoshop to print at 5 inches high.  I knew I wanted to add some journalling on the back so I measured a piece of patterned paper to size, then printed my journalling on the reverse of the patterned paper.

I just added a couple more cut a part pieces from the 6x6 pad to fill in the back of the insert.

At the moment I'm still deciding how to document my 2018.  I know I'll be PLing for sure, but I'm stuck between going with a 6x8 album again or switching it up this year to 9x12.

I'm definitely going to try more hybrid spreads, since I love printed journalling rather than hand written journalling.

I'd love to hear what you've decided on for your 2018 documenting!

Thanks for stopping by today!
